Memotech Software Development

- Using Z88DK

The Z88 Development Kit

"Z88DK is a Z80 C cross compiler supplied with an assembler/linker and a set of libraries implementing the C standard library for a number of different z80 based machines. The name z88dk originates from the time when the project was founded and targeted only the Cambridge Z88 portable."

The latest version of the Z88 Development Kit can be downloaded from SourceForge here, and the Z88DK Wiki is here.

Memotech MTX as the target hardware for Z88DK

Paul Daniels is the most active MTX user currently developing software with the Z88DK with the MTX, Paul will shortly be putting together a few notes on how to use the Z88DK with the MTX as the target.

AppMake

Z88 Development Kit - Application Generator

The AppMake utility from the Z88DK can be used to convert MTX binary files into tape format for writing back to tape.

The specific Wiki page for the Memotech MTX is here, it discusses AppMake.

Adventure 'A' - The Planet of Death

Port of the 1981 Artic Computing game for the ZX81 and ZX Spectrum (see other adventures in the series).

A text only adventure, using simple verb/noun parsing, where the player is stranded on an alien planet. The aim is to escape from this planet by finding your captured and disabled spaceship.

(Compiled for the MTX500,  if running the program under MEMU, use the "-mem-mtx500" switch.)
