[Mark] "joined Memotech in the time when we were building the
add on packs for the ZX81. My job was fixing the packs that
weren't working with my soldering iron and oscilloscope. We had
a quota to fix every day and the work was manic.
When the MTX
series was being developed, Robert [Branton] and Steve
[Marchant]asked me to create the software arm of Memotech, and that was
where Continental was born. The offices were over the road from
the main building and I took on Ed H[ollingshead] and Dave
Fazackerley to get the software going. They concentrated on the
games side of things and I wrote all the business software in
Cobol. |

As the MTX series were being built I worked with Brian
Pritchard writing all the MTX manuals. I still have some of them
in a cupboard somewhere. "
Mark described his post-Memotech career in an email to me in
2019 . . .
"After Memotech I worked in software development, but pretty
quickly realised I could do more travelling as a Technical
Writer, so travelled around Europe writing Technical manuals for
various companies including Philips.
While working in Switzerland I met my wife and had our first
child there. We came back to England and I worked for Siemens
for ten years before starting
my own technical company
specialising in drone cinematography and
Google Street View technology. "
