The Memotech MTX Series

Peter Brunning

From Brunning Software website

Peter Brunning

Peter Brunning wrote a number of utilities for the MTX, including BrunWord (word processor) in 1984. At the time, he was working as an engineering manager in the development labs at Marconi Mobile Radio in Chelmsford. The following year, BrunWord for the Amstrad CPC computer was released and BrunSpell (spell checker) and Brunning Data File (database) were added to the word processor. In 1987, the prospects for Brunning Software were looking very good, so Peter Brunning resigned from Marconi and since then his only income has been from Brunning Software.

By 1995 small software companies were struggling and many disappeared as quickly as they had started. Peter Brunning had predicted this down turn. Business had been good enough to create a reserve. So Peter Brunning worked for nearly a year with almost no income writing his first book Experimenting with PC Computers (1998), and the first Brunning Software training course was created.

He went on to writer other technical books including :-
